Youth - Sports

Encourage your child to be active and enroll them in the many sports activities we offer.  Nurturing your child to be active early in life will establish life-long healthy habits.  Participants will develop physical and mental skills, improve self-confidence, appreciate diversity, and build self-esteem and discipline. Check out our sports offerings below.  We believe sports and fun go hand in hand!

    5/6 year old co-ed Saturday 8:45am-9:45am or 10:00am-11:00am Fee $69/$90

    Players, ages 11 to 14, take part in a league in which teams meet once each week for a 1-hour practice at the Metuchen Y. Teams will also play one game a week on Saturday mornings. Our oldest group of players are always very excited to showcase and practice the skills and knowledge they have acquired ? but new players are welcome, too! (The first 2 weeks of the season will be practice sessions broken up by child's last name, until the 3rd week when we will split into teams and begin rotating through a game schedule. All games for the 11-14 group will occur either at 10:30am or 11:30am, rotating weekly.)

Spring Track and Field Ages 5-14
Join us for most popular spring program! Youth and Teens will meet weekly at Metuchen High School  to learn the basic fundamentals of various Track & Field events. Participants will learn proper and safe techniques from experienced coaches, in a fun and safe environment. Register today for our 8-week program and get your little one moving!

    Each class will incorporate instruction and fundamental skill development and game situations are introduced.
Karate (Ages 7+ years)
Instructor is a black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate, blends traditional Shaolin Kempo Karate training and martial arts philosophy with modern self-defense and fitness in a disciplined and structured, yet very fun, atmosphere. Students develop greater self-confidence and ability to concentrate while building strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and improved cardiovascular conditioning. Students begin as white belts and progress through colored belt ranks as they achieve greater proficiency. Ask for details on uniform.
