Youth - Sports

Encourage your child to be active and enroll them in the many sports activities we offer.  Nurturing your child to be active early in life will establish life-long healthy habits.  Participants will develop physical and mental skills, improve self-confidence, appreciate diversity, and build self-esteem and discipline. Basketball (Ages 5-14 years)

Spring Basketball League (5-14 years)

Everyone plays in this instructional league grouped by age.  Boys and girls learn basketball skills, team play and sportsmanship.  Structured team play means athletes will better learn the flow of the game.

May  5-June 16

    Coach Marcus is getting our young YMCA super stars ready for sports seasonal! Learn the basic skills and fundamentals of various gym sports and gain a basic understanding of how to properly care for our bodies to support a busy and active lifestyle. participants will experience agility drills, strength exercises, safe stretching, games and more!

Summer Speed School (Ages 7-14)

Improve agility and coordination while gaining speed and power through age-appropriate, elite training methods.  Skills gained will transfer into all sports!

This brand new program is geared towards those athletes who want to learn to play the sport, brush up on the rules, their skills and improve their games.  Participants should anticipate a challenging program that focuses on fundamentals, good sportsmanship and most importantly, FUN!

Spring Track and Field Ages 5-14
Join us for most popular spring program! Youth and Teens will meet weekly at Metuchen High School  to learn the basic fundamentals of various Track & Field events. Participants will learn proper and safe techniques from experienced coaches, in a fun and safe environment. Register today for our 8-week program and get your little one moving!

    Each class will incorporate instruction and fundamental skill development and game situations are introduced.
Karate (Ages 7+ years)
Instructor is a black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate, blends traditional Shaolin Kempo Karate training and martial arts philosophy with modern self-defense and fitness in a disciplined and structured, yet very fun, atmosphere. Students develop greater self-confidence and ability to concentrate while building strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and improved cardiovascular conditioning. Students begin as white belts and progress through colored belt ranks as they achieve greater proficiency. Ask for details on uniform.
