The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy is excited to announce that we are an official charity partner of New York Road Runners, for TCS New York City Marathon!

This iconic race is 26.2 miles through all five boroughs of New York City and hosts tens of thousands diverse runners each year.  

With this partnership, your miles can make a difference and share the importance of supporting the YMCA of MEWSA as we build strong kids, families and communities!

If you would like to secure an entry to the NYC Marathon through Team YMCA, you must agree to:
  • Commit to raise $3,250 by race day and understand that when signing up, you are responsible to pay the difference if the full amount is not raised. 
  • Notify family and friends of your participation while sharing on social media with #TCSNYMarathon
  • Have an amazing time!

Runners who have an entry through other means into the NYC Marathon but would like to join Team YMCA, please reach out to Liz Bennett at elizabeth.bennett@ymcaofmewsa.org. Fundraising options available. *New Members Only - Valid at YMCA of Metuchen, Edison or South Amboy. 

How to Apply


The YMCA has five charity spots which will be awarded by lottery. If you are interested in running the NYC Marathon while raising funds for the YMCA, please complete the Runner Questionnaire and Commitment Form and submitting them to elizabeth.bennett@ymcaofmewsa.org by April 12, 2024.  The YMCA will select the runners through a lottery on April 15, 2024. All applications (Runner Questionnaire and Signed Commitment Form) must be received in order to be considered. You will still have the opportunity to accept or decline the offer.

Please note that signing and returning these forms does NOT guarantee you a spot in the NYC Marathon. The YMCA will select the runners through a lottery. If selected, you will be notified and sent an invitation to register through NYCRR.
